Description

XTRASORB HCS (Hydrogel Colloidal Sheet) Super Absorbent Dressing. XTRASORB HCS is a novel hydrogelhydrocolloid
combination super-absorbent wound dressing. The clear dressing takes a low water content hydrogel and combines it with sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (sodium CMC – a common component in hydrocolloids and the base component in hydrofibers), along with other gelling/absorbing agents. The result is a dressing that can be used to help hydrate non-exuding wounds, while also being able to absorb fluid from lightly to moderately exuding wounds. The fluid that is absorbed converts to a gel, allowing it to be bound into the dressing, which can help to reduce the risk of maceration while also keeping the harmful components of wound fluid away from the patient’s skin.The dressing can absorb significantly more wound fluid as compared to that of standard hydrocolloid dressings. XTRASORB HCS comes in both adhesive and non-adhesive formats. Does not contain natural rubber latex.
